My concentration theme relvolves around the pressure from the media to look perfect. It is something that everyone is affected by, even if it isn't a large pressure in their life. I have felt this for my whole life, so it is something that is very personal. I will portray this by using value, contrast, point of view, light, and color.

Week 2
This week, I played around with using dyptics. I am using color to portray the way that the media portrays what life should be. Black and white is used to portray what reality is or what reality has become because of the media. This weekend, I will be retaking pictures with different lighting (like the candy one) and taking new pictures as well.

Bella- I really like your concentration theme. This seems to fit you well. I really like your strong use of lighting in your black and white photos. My favorite picture is of the nude barbie doll. I also really like your photostory. I also like the great camera settings that you have been using, all your pictures are perfect!

I just noticed there is a cast shadow on the girl in the bathroom photo. I would retake that one with more controlled lighting. I'd like to repeat that I think your the contrast between your black and white and color images would be stronger if you enhanced the color saturation in Photoshop. Looking forward to seeing some new images!
ReplyDeleteI think that your theme is something that many people in our generation (and even past/future generations) can relate to and recognize. I think that the contrast you make between the effect (the girl's disease) and the cause (the media's glorification of emaciated females) with color is very effective. My only suggestion would be to maybe pump up the contrast in the black and white photos to make them pop a little more.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are so beautiful! I really like the differences of color and I really like your theme. I think a lot of really cool pictures can be taken with this theme, and you're definately on the right track!! My favorite picture so far is the one with the poster and the girl over the toilet, it's great!!
